September 2006: NYC

Just a short update. I have taken a position at Ableton in their US press department. This has necessitated a move to New York city, which has been an exciting change. DJing has taken a back seat to getting settled in a new place, but I hope to pick it up again soon.

News of my MIDI controller project has been picked up by the company that sells the core electronics, and a very cool blog. I've been culling questions and feedback for a FAQ that I hope to compile and put up either here or on m-control.com

May 8, 2006: Going Away Party

This Sunday night me, Zak Davis, and Matthias Gewalt will be playing at On the Rocks for a going away event. We're all leaving town in a couple of weeks, and a friend of ours is throwing us a small party.

Ben Blue, Scott Nelsen, Terry Grant, and Justin Kase will start off the night at 7PM, I'll come on at 9, Matthias at 10, and Zak at 11.

April: Balance

I'll be DJing my usual monthly residence on Wednesday, April 26th at Balance.

There is a slight chance this will be my last DJ gig in Nashville, as I'll be moving to New York City in late May/early June.

March ('06) Gigs

I'll be DJing in both Nashville and Murfreesboro this month.

First is a gig at Club Drink in Murfreesboro, on Thursday, March 16th. I'll be playing a bit on my own, as well as some tag-team DJing with Neuro, one of the main promoters for the night. I attended the previous week's event, and was very impressed with the space. Drink is an excellent club with a great college crowd - the place brings in a good mix of pure party people and dedicated dance music fans.

Second is my monthly residency with Balance. This will be taking place on Wednesday, March 29th at Club Ice on Demonbreun Street. The club is attached to a rock/country bar called On the Rocks, near the roundabout at the end of Music Row.

I hope to have CD versions of my latest mix available for free at both gigs. Feel free to ask me for a copy!

Nashville Scene/Ultra Music Festival DJ Contest

I don't know how this will pan out, but I've become one of five finalists for a Nashville Scene-promoted DJ contest. The winner gets an expenses-paid trip down to Miami to spin a set at the Ultra music festival.

They're having a short spin-off at Bar Twenty3 this Thursday at 10PM. I'm excited, but guarded...

UPDATE: didn't win, congrats are in order for fellow friend and DJ Ben Blue!
